Mens North of England Open Championships
Newcastle. 19-Dec-2004
This was a new men's advanced competition. 46 gymnasts competing
were from Carlisle (6), Newcastle (13), Leeds (9), Plymouth (6)
Darlington (3), and Middlesborough(9).
In the senior competition(13-18 yrs) representing Carlisle were
Christy Bailey,8th place,Nick McLeod, 9th place, Mike Burgess 10th place,
and John Gill, 15th place. Newcastle competitors achieved the first seven 
placings, with Middlesborough taking a joint 5th.
In the Junior Comp,(8-12 yrs), Plymouth and Leeds demonstrated a fantastic
standard of gymnastics. Representing Carlisle were,
Ivan Renac, 16th. and Sam Lightowler 18th. 
Congratulations to all from Carlisle, you did a fantastic job, also Happy Birthday 
to Christy who celebrated his 13th birthday on the same day, and was the youngest senior.

New Male Members Rec Session.

Welcome to all new male members of Carlisle Gym Club,who started the new rec session. This session runs for 1 hour on Saturday mornings from 9.30 to 10.30am, and was started on Nov 6th 2004. This session has places

for new gymnasts from age 5 upwards who have completed their first full term at school. For further information

please contact Julie Bailey at Gym on Monday eve up to 6.00pm.

I would also like to extend my thanks to all helped out due to the flooding and also to Christy Bailey who has donated a CD/TAPE player to the Gym club to replace the two that were lost due to the recent flood damage.

 

 

Cumbria Schools Novice Floor & Vault Comp.

7 Boys from the gymnastics club entered this competition. They achieved 6 gold & 1 silver medals. 146 gymnasts competed,( boys & girls) in 4 age groups, un'9, un'11, un'13, & ov'13.

OVER 13's male.

Nick Mcleod & Mike Burgess achieved joint first with a points score of 17.1

UNDER 13's male.

Craig Morning and Callum Kirkbride came first.

UNDER 11's male.

Jim Kirkaldy came first

Chris Rome was second

UNDER 9's male.

Callum Aldridge was first
