Well done to all the Carlisle Gymnasts. Every gymnast received a medal. Both teams won their age groups. Emily Fitton and Louisa Sinclair were first in their age groups. Places also for Milly Scott, Kryssy Stockdale and Kate Phillips. See results under competition tab

CARLISLE GYM CLUB SUMMER CAMP

Yes its that time of the year. Reserve your place at this years camp Mon 25th to Fri 29th July 2011. A week full of coaching, choreography, fun, games and even supper on Thursday night. (9.30am till 4.30pm daily, Thursday times may vary). If you haven't got a form to fill in then see a coach. A non-refundable £50 deposit is required by April 30th, with the balance of £90 being due by June 30th (Total £140). Places will be limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Once again we will be blessed with guest coaches John Pirrie (a national.coach)and Roxanne Jennison ( a British Team silver medallist and National Squad member). You even get a T shirt to remember the week by. So hurry and get your forms back asap.

Carlisle Gymnastics Club came away from the recent North of England Championships with a bumper haul of medals. Held in City of Newcastle's Benfield gym, the competition brought together the top gymnasts from Newcastle, South Durham, Wansbeck, Kendal and Darlington. With Benfield and South Durham's gymnastics facilities lined up for 2012 training camps, there is little chance that Carlisle's Thomas Street premises will be called into similar action. But despite their humble training facilities, the girls did coaches Maria Sinclair and Julie Kidd proud, with all seven girls finishing in the top six in their age groups.
Winning grade 11 in the 13 and under class was Bethany Campbell, with 11 year old Amber Surtees not far behind in an excellent fourth place.Another trophy winner was Catherine Sadler who took first place in the 13 and under grade 10 competition with Rebecca Dean sixth in the same class.Alice Foster was a runaway winner in the grade 10 senior competition, scoring 46.80 with the silver medallist scoring 42.90. In the grade 9 senior competion Carlisle's Molly Wright took bronze with clubmate Emily Small close behind in fourth.Carlisle's younger gymnasts will be hoping to emulate the senior squad's success when they compete in their North of England grades competition on Sunday 3 April, also at Benfield.Report by local correspondent
